Home / EV & Tesla dent repair
The badge does not tell you what the panel is made of.
Half the cars in Bellevue run on a battery, and a lot of them are aluminum. That single fact changes how long your repair takes, what it costs, and how much the person holding the rod actually matters.

Most EV dents are repairable without paint, but the body material decides the job. Aluminum-intensive cars like the Tesla Model S and X, Lucid Air, Porsche Taycan and the F-150 Lightning have no spring-back in the metal, so every fraction of the repair is made deliberately, usually with heat. Steel-intensive EVs like the Ioniq 5, EV6 and Bolt behave like any other car. Material varies by model year and by individual panel, so we confirm it on your car before quoting.
Aluminum comes through this bay every week.
Filter by brand. The color tells you how the body leans, and the last column tells you what to expect when you bring it in.

How to read this. Manufacturers mix materials across a single car, and they change them between model years. A steel-bodied EV can still have an aluminum hood. This is the general lean, not a panel-by-panel spec. We confirm the actual panel on your car under the light before anyone quotes a number.
The Eastside drives more aluminum than anywhere else in the state.
Washington has one of the highest EV adoption rates in the country, and inside Washington the densest pocket sits right here: Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Sammamish. Drive through any structured garage on the Eastside and count the Teslas, the Rivians, the Lightnings.
That matters because the same parking garage that produces a routine door ding on a steel sedan produces a considerably harder repair on the car parked next to it. Same impact, same size dent, completely different job, because one panel wants to return to its shape and the other does not.
Plenty of shops learned this trade on steel and never had to unlearn it. Push aluminum the way steel likes to be pushed and you do not get a partial repair. You get pock marks and mars in the panel that no amount of extra work removes. That is the failure mode worth asking any shop about before you hand over the keys.
The question that actually protects you is not whether a shop does paintless dent repair. It is how many aluminum panels they have finished, and what happens if yours is the one that goes wrong.
Both of these are Teslas repaired in Bellevue. Drag the handle. Nothing was filled, nothing was sprayed, and the factory finish is the one that left the factory.
Drag the handle
Aluminum EV panels often mean taking part of the car apart to reach the metal from behind. Here is one of ours on a Lucid, start to finish, with the factory paint never touched.

The cars that punish a guess.
Model 3, Y, S and X. Which panels are aluminum, why the S and X are a different job from the 3, and what a tailgate full of dings actually takes.
Tesla page →R1T and R1S. Aluminum doors and hood, steel fenders and rear quarters, and the tailgate and bedside damage that comes with actually using them.
Rivian page →One straight on, one at an angle, one close, plus the year and model. We will tell you whether it is paintless, whether that panel is aluminum, and what it means for the time.
This shop is not built for whoever wants the cheapest repair on the Eastside. It is built for the owner who wants to know what happened to their panel, what the options are, and wants it done right the first time.
It depends which one, and it depends which panel. The Model S and Model X are aluminum-intensive. On the Model 3 and Model Y it is the hood and the doors that are aluminum. The fenders and quarter panels are steel, so those still spring back and behave like a conventional car. Tesla has also changed material mixes between model years, so we confirm the specific panel on your car rather than going by the badge.
Yes, and it takes longer. Aluminum has almost no spring-back, so it holds whatever shape it is given. The metal is warmed and walked back deliberately rather than pushed, and there is no margin for overshooting. It is the same method with a slower hand and more experience behind it.
Paintless dent repair works on outer body panels, not structure, wiring or the pack. On panels near cameras, radar or ultrasonic sensors we work around them rather than through them. If a repair would require disturbing a sensor or a trim piece carrying one, we tell you before we start.
Usually yes, and multiple dents on one panel are more efficient per dent than the same number spread across five panels. Setup and access are the cost, not the count. Send a photo with a light or a window reflection running across the tailgate and we can count them properly.
Yes. Lucid is aluminum-intensive, and Rivian mixes aluminum doors and hood with steel fenders and rear quarters. Both come through regularly. Polestar and the Volvo-based EVs are more mixed. All of them get read under the board before anyone quotes.
