Toyota dent repair
in Bellevue & Seattle

Steel with memory, which is the metal working for you.

Most Toyota panels are steel, and steel has memory. That means the metal is already trying to return to the shape it was pressed into, so the technician is guiding a panel rather than forcing one. It is why a Camry or RAV4 door ding is usually the quickest repair on the board, often 30 to 90 minutes and gone the same day.

What actually decides it

What moves the number on a Toyota

01

Memory is doing half the work

Steel that has not been stretched wants its old shape back. That is the whole reason a straightforward Toyota door ding finishes clean and finishes fast, and why it costs less than the same dent on an aluminum panel.

02

A few aluminum exceptions

Some Tundra hoods and some hatch panels are aluminum, and the hybrids use aluminum in places to save weight. It is worth checking rather than assuming, because it changes the time.

03

4Runner and Tacoma live outdoors

Trailhead gravel, roof boxes and gear going in and out mean hoods and tailgates rather than the door dings that dominate on the sedans. Different panel, same method.

04

High volume means we have seen yours

Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Tacoma and 4Runner are among the most common cars in this bay. There is very little about them we are meeting for the first time.

Under the paint

The panel is only half the story

Two Toyota dents of the same size can turn out to be two different jobs. What separates them is whatever sits underneath the metal at that exact point: a beam, a brace, a pillar, or nothing at all. Pull the edge across to strip the paint away.

A Toyota Camry photographed side on with its paint untouched The same Toyota with the panels made transparent, showing the intrusion beam behind the door and the inner structure filling the rear quarter

A Toyota with the panels taken off. Choose a number to read what that area means for the work.

Plenty of dents never land on a door, and the rule holds everywhere else on the car. Hoods, fenders, quarters and tailgates all have something underneath them: stiffeners, mounting brackets, wiring runs, and under a hood an entire inner frame. Where the metal is clear at the back, the work moves quickly. Where it sits on a reinforcement, the panel has to be approached from another angle, or something has to come off before a tool can get near it. That is the honest reason a quote follows the photo rather than the description.

Straight from the shopIt is also why a firm number down the phone would be a guess. Clear metal behind the damage makes for a short paintless repair. The same damage sitting on a beam or a pillar makes for a longer one. Send three photographs and we will tell you which of the two yours looks like, then the shop light settles it when the car arrives. How paintless dent repair works.

Absolutely great experience. The people are friendly and so helpful. They also did an amazing job. This dent showed up after someone hit my parked car and it had been bugging me for months but now you would not even be able to tell it was ever there. They were fast, accommodating and diligent.

The team provided a fast and reasonable quote for the work I wanted to get done. On the day of the appointment, they greeted me kindly and gave me a timeframe for the job. The final result turned out great and the small dent is now gone.

Toyota owners ask

Questions about this make

How long does a Toyota door ding take to repair?

Most are 30 to 90 minutes and the car goes home the same day. Toyota door skins are steel with memory helping the panel back, which is why this is one of the quickest repairs we do.

Can a Toyota dent be fixed without repainting?

Yes, that is exactly what paintless dent repair is. The panel is worked from behind until the metal returns to shape, so nothing is filled, sanded or sprayed.

Do you repair Tacoma and 4Runner dents?

Regularly. They come in with hood and tailgate damage more than door dings, because of where they get parked and what gets loaded into them.

Is a Toyota hood aluminum?

Some are, particularly on Tundra and on some hybrids. Most Toyota panels are steel. Send the year and model with the photos and we will confirm before quoting.
